History

Heartland Assembly in Ottumwa was birthed in July of 2008 out of the hunger of a small group of Ottumwans who began to attend Heartland Assembly in Ankeny, Iowa. Having heard of the outpouring of God’s Spirit in Ankeny, this group of some 30 believers began to make the 90 minute drive nearly weekly in order to receive teaching and a fresh impartation.

The leadership of Heartland in Ankeny began to take note of the growing interest in the south-central part of the state. After receiving several confirming prophetic words, the leadership of Heartland decided to establish a satellite congregation in the city of Ottumwa. This church would share the same revival DNA of Heartland yet adapt their approach to the unique environment of Ottumwa.

Under the leadership of Pastor Jim Olson and his wife Faye, Heartland presently meets at the Lava Lounge located at 420 East Main Street in downtown Ottumwa every Sunday morning at 10:00 am.
